I remember growing up watching the "Sheng siong supermarket " variety show.
I loved watching the little boys and girls sing chinese karaoke while prancing around the stage in florescent multi coloured clothing. It was exciting. to laugh at. heh.
Then there was the lucky draw section where the selected people got to open golden boxes or beat the golden fortune trees to earn prize money.

I don't watch it anymore.

But ANYWAY, today i just decided randomly turn the tv on and the show was airing! Live.

It was U-kiss(korean band) performing their song!

I was dumbfounded.
Not cause U-kiss was in singapore or i like the band or anything but cause they agreed to perform for
a supermarket show.

The supermarket chain has also launched a variety programme on Channel 8. Because a group called the 'U-Kiss' appeared on that show, 'Sheng Siong became the top trending topic in Twitter, winning World Cup at one point in time...

Come on, they deserve better than that coming all the way from korea! The wondergirls got to perform at marina bay sands while they degraded themselves performing on the same stage i used to watch mediocre karaoke sing-a-long sessions and desperate people hitting trees for money.

Maybe, times have changed and sheng siong is uprading its image of its decade old variety show. In that case, they should start from upgrading their adverts:

*Employees pat their hand on shoulder and points to viewers* ~sings "Sheng siong quan shi wei le niiiiiii!"

project tricycle!

Today, i transformed my toddler tricycle from this

to THIS!

Yay:) Im really happy with the outcome. Its my first time spray painting so i spent like four hours on it and was real tired and coughing from the smelly paint fumes. The wheels were soooo hard to paint!

But anyway, i transformed this 20 something year old tricycle and made it look good as new! (Its my 26- year old cousin's toddler tricycle)

had to sandpaper all the rust off!

Ben helped me with the finishing touches of painting on metallic silver screws

And tadahh! Beautiful:)

Daddy said i should sell it. Anyone want to buy? :)

But nah, its gonna be an art piece in the new house.

I might follow up and paint so ambellishments on it at the end of the year. so exciting!

Next up, designing the room!

Craving for yam.

People say im trying to lose weight
cause I object to their views of eating at fast food restaurants
and i hardly finish my food even though i asked the food aunty to halve my portion of rice.
I can almost image the words floating in their heads:
"Trying to get all the oil off her hash brown again. tsk"
"Oh shes being so picky. I mean one burger/fries wonldn't hurt right?"

Truth is, yes i am health conscious but I avoid fast food simply cause I don't like them.
Its too oily, too salty and just not my kind of food.
I have a true blue Asian chinese diet.
I love my noodles, Dim sum!!, kuehs, stir fried vegetables and clear soups. and would gladly choose them over western fast food:)

Another thing.
If you ask any desert person, they will say they save like 3/4 of their stomachs for desert after meals. Im one of them:) I look at the desert menus at restaurants before main course. And i eat dinner sometimes for the sake of beautiful desert. yum

So for the last time
I'm not on a diet.
You can say desert makes up for all the fats and calories im not consuming at my meals.

I sat through more than 5 exams this week with a curtain over my face.





You know what, growing back your hair long is harder than it looks cause you have to deal with all the mess during the growing process that most of the time you'll just give up and decide to chop it all off again. (at least for me, thats the case:))

Pong and I rewarded ourselves with Taiyaki (japanese red bean fish-shaped cake thing) at ion and shopped at miumiu, D&G, Gucci, Prada, Zzegna.

Yes yes, just window shopping.

I think from now onwards we can both agree that the things we like to buy and see the most is food. Its a "multi-sensory" experience shopping for food really. Go to the foodhall and supermarket with us one day!
